Arab American leaders from grassroots organizations across the country will participate in NNAAC’s Advocacy Week April 17-19 in Washington.
Plans for the week are still in the works, but so far they include a congressional briefing, meetings with elected and administrative officials, and a strategy session with a political analyst. Prior to the DC events, participants will join a weekly conference call for planning, briefings and training on issues.
This year’s Advocacy Week is particularly important, as NNAAC members prepare to reach out this year to thousands of Arab Americans through voter registration and GOTV efforts, ongoing youth engagement on the national and local levels, and as we continue our work to hold law enforcement accountable for racial profiling.
Other topics include:
-Immigration
-Racial Profiling
-Domestic violence
-Islamophobia
-Unemployment
-Arts & Culture
-Healthcare
So MARK YOUR CALENDARS! We look forward to having an empowering movement that will positively reinforce the voice of Arab Americans politically, socially, economically and physically!
